School Therapies Lead

Join our dedicated Health and Wellbeing team at Winchester College as a part-time School Therapies Lead. We are seeking an experienced and accredited Child Counsellor or Psychotherapist to provide mental health and wellbeing support to our pupils.

In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, deliver outcome-focused brief interventions and short-term counselling (up to 8 sessions), and conduct risk assessments. You will also play a key role in liaising with the Lead Nurse, Winchester Youth Counsellors, school staff, parents, and external specialists to ensure holistic care. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of the school's mental health provision through data analysis, research, and the delivery of training to staff and pupils.

This is a permanent, part-time position for 18 hours per week, with core hours from September 2025 scheduled on Tuesdays (8:45 am - 9:30 am) and Wednesdays and Thursdays (2:00 pm - 6:00 pm).

The ideal candidate will be a BACP/UKCP accredited counsellor (or equivalent), hold a specialist diploma in child and young people counselling, and possess at least 5 years of post-qualifying experience, preferably within a school setting. A strong understanding of safeguarding principles and experience working with young people at risk are essential.
