Art and Design Teacher
- Monkton Senior School
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, imaginative and ambitious colleague to join our Art and Design department. You will want to train to teach in a first class environment and have experience of being a practising designer.
Monkton Senior (13-18) is seeking to appoint a full time teacher of Design from October 2019, or whenever available, who will train for and be supported through a PGCE. The successful applicant will share our vision for fostering a love of lifelong learning, both for students and teachers. He or she will be passionate about delivering an excellent holistic education and have a commitment to individuals, seeing this as the basis for students to flourish. He or she will see education as lighting fires rather than filling pails, and appreciate the contribution that co-curricular activities make to the learning process. A willingness to work collaboratively, and get fully and energetically involved in the co-curricular and pastoral life of the School is essential.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to build on the developments made over recent years in the Design department. The introduction of the 3D Design course at A level has enriched the creative discourse between the Design and Art departments, fulfilling some of the original high ambitions for the new faculty building. Applications from candidates interested in exploring the way that the Design curriculum can interact imaginatively with Art, Textiles and Photography are especially welcome.
The salary offered is in accordance with the Monkton Combe Teaching Staff Salary Scale.
Please review the attached job description and terms of employment for further information.
Applicants should complete and return the School application form, along with a covering letter outlining their suitability for the position to the HR Department, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note: Monkton Combe School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post including checks with past employers and Disclosure and Barring Service
