You will play a central role in shaping students’ experience outside the classroom. You will plan and deliver a varied schedule of sports, arts, team-building and evening activities, ensuring all students feel engaged, supported, and included.

Fixed-Term | July–August 2026

The King’s School, a leading independent school with a rich heritage and vibrant boarding community, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Activities Leaders to support our 2026 Summer School programmes. Welcoming students aged 8–17 from the UK and around the world, our Summer School blends academic learning with an exceptional co-curricular programme—designed to inspire confidence, connection, and personal growth.

As an Activities Leader, you will play a central role in shaping students’ experience outside the classroom. You will plan and deliver a varied schedule of sports, arts, team-building and evening activities, ensuring all students feel engaged, supported, and included. You will also help supervise exciting off-site excursions, offering guidance and fostering a positive atmosphere throughout. Pastoral care is an essential aspect of the role, including being a friendly and reassuring presence in our boarding houses and supporting students’ wellbeing during their stay.

We are looking for personable, responsible, and proactive individuals with experience working with children or young people. A background in sports, arts, outdoor activities, or residential settings is desirable.

Residential accommodation and meals are provided for all summer staff.

The post will be closed once we have appointed to the positions and therefore early applications are advised.

The King’s School is committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a fair, robust and consistent recruitment process which is in line with the statutory Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates.

All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.
