About the CCF at Hurst
Hurstpierpoint College has a proud and historic association with the Cadet movement, with the CCF originally established as an Officer Training Corps in 1860. Today, our CCF is one of the largest and most respected in the country, comprising Army, Royal Navy and RAF sections and involving over 300 cadets.
The CCF plays a central role in College life, promoting leadership, teamwork, resilience and personal development through an ambitious programme of weekly training, adventurous activities, field days, camps, competitions and ceremonial events.

- Planning and overseeing the weekly training programme, annual camps, exercises and external events
- Leading, mentoring and line-managing Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) and Section Commanders
- Ensuring full compliance with MOD and CCF regulations, including safeguarding, health & safety, weapon handling, logistics and reporting
- Managing budgets, equipment, stores and administrative systems
- Acting as the College’s representative at cadet forums, ceremonial occasions and external engagements
- Working closely with senior colleagues to ensure the CCF complements the wider educational and pastoral aims of the College
We are looking for a candidate who brings:
- Military experience (Regular, Reserve or Cadet Forces) and/or substantial CCF leadership experience
- Strong organisational, administrative and people-management skills
- A genuine passion for developing young people through challenge and responsibility
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with pupils, staff, parents and external partners
- High personal standards, integrity and a collaborative leadership style
